How does Electric-Epilation work?

It is a hair removal method that is practiced by inserting a very fine needle-electrode into the hair follicle; an electric pulse is applied through the needle to cause the root and hair growth area to be destroyed using a high-frequency current, causing the hair to die and preventing it from re-growing.

Thus, this technique guarantees you 100% and DEFINITIVE hair removal!!!

Why is electric hair removal preferable to laser?

Why electric hair removal and not the laser?

Electric hair removal has been around for over 140 years, the American Quality Control Administration has recognized electric hair removal as the only method of permanent hair removal.

Whereas laser hair removal is “permanent hair reduction”, i.e. “amount reduction”.

It is against the law to state that the laser removes hair permanently. Experts also suggest carrying out laser treatment once every 2 years.

The work of the laser is aimed at destroying the color pigment and is therefore effective on a combination of dark hair and fair skin, but in the case of other combinations the effectiveness is considerably reduced.

The laser cauterizes the hair itself and only partially the growth area, causing the root to “fall asleep” and, after some time, restore itself.

Electric hair removal works on each hair individually using the needle-electrode, so it is suitable for all skin and hair types, and even for people with a lot of hair!

This is a side effect is called paradoxical hypertrichosis done by the laser treatments.

Are there any contraindications to electric hair removal?

Yes, electric hair removal has contraindications, such as:

  1. Neuropsychiatric disorders
  2. blood diseases
  3. oncological diseases
  4. Diabetes
  5. cardiovascular diseases (ischemic heart disease, hypertension, etc.)
  6. acute and chronic skin diseases
  7. viral infectious diseases
  8. Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  9. hepatitis
  10. intolerance to the metal alloys that make up the needles
  11. individual intolerance to electric current.

How often should electric hair removal be performed?

The number and frequency of procedures depend on many factors.

All people have a different degree of hairiness. Some people have sparse and fine hair, others have thick hair. The growth rate of the hair root is also different in each person and sometimes differs by days and weeks.

It also depends on the area in which the electric hair removal procedure will be performed. Accordingly, the bikini area, which is very thick, should be done more often and longer than the chest and abdomen, because there is less hair.

It is also important to know also about hair removal procedures performed previously. It is more practical to work in shaved areas because the hairs have the same length and the same rigidity. After depilation with an epilator or wax, the hair becomes fragile, and thin, the root twists, and the hair grows in different directions, and sometimes sinks into the skin, resulting in pimples and discomfort.

There are a number of sessions required for the complete removal of unwanted hair:

Usually, the whole process consists of 4-6 sessions for women and 7-10 for men. It takes 2-3 sessions to remove the main volume, which is between 70-90%.

How long time it takes to wait between sessions of electrolysis?

The answer of this question is very complex and requires to understand the anatomy of the hair follicle and the cycles of growth. The short answer is that it is needed a minimum of 3-4 weeks between 2 sessions to have the new hairs in the ideal stage of growth. However, the growth cycles of the hairs are different depending of the zones and some hairs will only exit after 10 weeks after the old hairs fell down so if the sessions are done each 3 weeks, there is a chance that only in the 4th session the practitioner might have access to new hair which was dormant until that time.

How to prepare before Electrolysis?

At first, it is very important to wait a minimum of 3-4 weeks after the last shaving, in order for the hairs to become 2-3mm long. Electrolysis can’t work for the hairs which are not visible for the eye. If the client can wait longer with some visible hairs, she can come even after 6 weeks after the last shaving because more hairs will appear and can be taken out even in the first session.

Secondly, it is important to hydrate the skin one week before each treatment for having better results.

Thirdly, one day before the treatment to take a hot shower or bath and have a natural pealing of the old skin.

Is Electrolysis painful?

Yes and No.

Electrolysis done by the old machines it is very painful. Also, if the needle is not inserted exactly in the follicle it will also produce pain. If the needle is not introduce in the right place and the follicle of the hair was not destroyed, the practitioner will pull out the hairs using force and the pain will be same as you pull out an healthy hair. For this reason, the combination between the newest technology of Electrolysis machine with the experience of the practitioner are very important to obtain a Painless Hair Removal by Electrolysis.

Apilus is the best electrolysis machine which is using a combination of hundreds of programs depending of the hair and the zone in order to obtain the most comfortable treatment which exists on the market.

However, even with Apilus, exists different sensibilities of the clients to the electrical current and so the procedures is perceived differently by each client.

The intimate zones are the most sensitive to everybody and so we cannot say that the electrolysis is painless in those areas. For these zones the practitioner can apply a local aesthesis solution in order for the client to be able to support the pain of the treatment.

cryolupolysis

Is the cryolupolysis painful?
Traditional cryolipolysis can cause a sensation of pain when the device sucks the skin, resulting in a strong pinching sensation. However, this sensation quickly disappears due to the numbness caused by the low temperature of the device. Our machines can automatically perform a massage during the treatment, making the treatment in our salon much more comfortable than older machines. After the treatment, the skin may become red and swollen, so it is recommended to manually perform a local massage to relieve discomfort and improve appearance. The treated area may be painful in the first few hours, but generally, it does not cause significant discomfort.

Possible health risks?

Cryolipolysis is a safe procedure, provided it is performed by a trained professional and the device is properly calibrated and the temperature adjusted in each session. If these conditions are not respected, there is a risk of 2nd or 3rd degree burns, both because of temperature dysregulation, and because of the cover that is placed between the skin and the device, which must be intact. Additionally, pain, burning, redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness or numbness of the skin in the treated area may occur, which may last for a few days to a few weeks after the procedure.

Comment se déroule une séance ?

The session lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes depending on the areas. The ultrasound machine is applied to the skin by the beautician by performing a massage using a conductive gel that facilitates the process. At the end of the lipocavitation session, lymphatic drainage by the Pressotherapy machine can be proposed to stimulate local microcirculation and promote the elimination of fat through natural channels.

What techniques can be used in addition to lipocavitation?

In addition to a lipocavitation session, lipolaser sessions (a cold laser against cellulite), radiofrequency (to smooth the skin) or even cryolipolysis (destruction of cellulite by cold) may be recommended.

Does lipocavitation help you lose weight?

The results of lipocavitation (smoother and firmer skin, refined area, reduced cellulite, etc.) are generally visible after a few sessions. However, it is important to note that this slimming treatment is in no way a substitute for adopting good lifestyle habits!
